To avoid NAFLD, try not to consume too much of these foods.
Sweet Beverages
The liver is in charge of converting excess sugar into fat, and the average American consumes about 65 pounds of sugar every year. The body doesn’t need this much sugar, which is why anything not used to fuel the body gets turned into fat.
Sweet beverages are particularly harmful, especially sodas and fruit drinks.
Refined Carbohydrates
This group of foods includes cookies, pizzas, and pasta. While they’re tasty and make for good occasional meals or snacks, they’re also dangerous. Too much processed carbohydrates will raise your blood sugar level and cause insulin resistance.
The liver produces insulin, but it can’t do so effectively if fat infiltrates it.
Red Meat
Red meats contain lots of saturated fats, and your liver may get coated in fat if you overeat it. In addition, it increases weight gain quickly. To avoid fatty liver disease, cut back on red meats.
Alcohol
Heavy drinking will harm your liver, causing NAFLD. Thus, it would be best if you drank alcohol sparingly or never, less than two drinks daily for men and one drink for women.
Protect Your Liver
Good liver health will reduce the amount of toxins that stay in your body, leading to improved overall health and well-being. Thus, while you can indulge in these foods sometimes, it’s better not to go overboard. After all, NAFLD isn’t easily detected until it’s advanced.
